Pleading that putting money into the Arts robs other more fundamental and urgent local needs is simply wrong. The fact is that the Arts raise vast amounts of revenue and make us one of the most creative and envied countries in the world. It is our pride and our heritage. Don't be fooled, intimidated or fobbed off by misleading statements intending to induce misplaced guilt and the notion that the Arts are a luxury item. They are part of our lifeblood.
